Alberta Blue Cross® scholarship at the University of Lethbridge

Alberta Blue Cross 50th Anniversary Bursary for Students with Special Needs

Value of award: $1,500

Number: One

Criteria:

  • First preference will be given to a high school applicant entering the University of Lethbridge for the first time.
  • Second preference will be given to applicants transferring to the University of Lethbridge from another post-secondary institution.
  • Third preference will be to a continuing University of Lethbridge student.
  • Candidates must be Alberta residents and will be enrolled in a minimum course load of 60 per cent in any degree program.
  • Academic achievement based on actual admission average and financial need.
  • Minimum requirements will be a 70 per cent actual high school admission average for high school applicants or a 3.00 cumulative transferable GPC (or equivalent) for transfer applicants.
  • The recipient receiving this award must not be receiving more than $3,500 in other scholarships, bursaries or awards.

Field of study: Open

Application process: Must submit the appropriate awards application. Applicants will be required to submit a medical certificate or statement of special needs from either a physician or disability counsellor detailing nature and degree of impairment. The intent of the award is to assist a student who will incur expenses related to his/her disability to attend the University. Therefore, applicants will be asked to provide a statement of expenses for exceptional assistive services and/or equipment necessary to access post-secondary studies.


Alberta Blue Cross 50th Anniversary Entrance Award

Value of award: $1,500

Number: One

Criteria:

  • Available to an Alberta resident entering the University of Lethbridge on the basis of academic achievement in high school.
  • Candidates will be enrolled in any degree program.
  • Academic achievement based on actual admission average and financial need.
  • Tenable upon confirmation of full-time enrolment at the University of Lethbridge in the fall and spring semester immediately following the granting of the award.

Field of study: Any degree program

Application process: Must submit a High School Applicant Award application.


Alberta Blue Cross 50th Anniversary Relocation Awards

Value of award: $1,500

Number: One

Criteria:

  • Available to an Alberta resident entering the University of Lethbridge on the basis of academic achievement in high school.
  • Available to candidates who relocated to attend the University of Lethbridge and whose permanent residence is a distance of at least 100 kilometres away from the City of Lethbridge.
  • Candidates will be enrolled in any degree program.
  • Academic achievement based on actual admission average and financial need.
  • Tenable upon confirmation of full-time enrolment at the University of Lethbridge in the fall and spring semester immediately following the granting of the award.
  • The recipient must not be receiving more than $3,500 in other scholarships, bursaries or awards.

Field of study: Any degree program

Alberta Blue Cross 50th Anniversary Health Sciences Award

Value of award: $1,500

Number: One

Criteria:

  • Available to an Alberta resident entering the University of Lethbridge for the first time.
  • First preference will be given to a high school applicant and second preference will be given to applicants transferring to the University of Lethbridge from another post-secondary institution.
  • Candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor of Health Sciences-Addictions program.
  • Academic achievement based on actual admission average and financial need.
  • Minimum requirements will be a 70 per cent actual high school admission average for high school applicants or a GPA of 3.00 (or equivalent) or greater on at least eight transferable courses (24 credit hours) in the previous September to April.
  • Tenable upon confirmation of full-time enrolment in the Bachelor of Health Sciences-Addictions, at the University of Lethbridge in the fall and spring semester immediately following the granting of the award.
  • The recipient must not be receiving more than $3,500 in other scholarships, bursaries or awards.

Field of study: Health Sciences-Addictions

Application process: Must submit a High School Applicant Award application.


Alberta Blue Cross 50th Anniversary Computer Science Award

Value of award: $1,500

Number: One

Criteria:

  • Available to an Alberta resident entering the University of Lethbridge on the basis of academic achievement in high school.
  • Candidates will be enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program with a declared major in Computer Science.
  • Academic achievement based on actual admission average.
  • Also based on financial need.
  • Tenable upon confirmation of full-time enrolment in the Bachelor of Science program with a declared major in Computer Science, at the University of Lethbridge in the fall and spring semester immediately following the granting of the award.
  • The recipient must not be receiving more than $3,500 in other scholarships, bursaries or awards.

Field of study: Bachelor of Science program with a declared major in Computer Science.

Application process: Must submit a High School Applicant Award application.
