Multi-trip annual plans are non-refundable for any reason after the effective date—it's when your yearly plan begins. Multi-trip cancellation, interruption and baggage coverage is refundable if no travel has taken place and the request for the refund is received by us prior to the effective date.
A full refund will be issued if you contact us to cancel your Alberta Blue Cross® travel plan before the date you told us you were leaving on your trip—the effective date. A partial refund will be issued if you contact us to let us know that you returned early, before your plan’s expiry date. In the case of an early return, you will need to provide proof (customer or immigration stamp, gas receipts, etc.). And, a refund is issued only if there is no claim pending or paid.
For single-trip, trip cancellation, interruption and baggage coverage a full refund will be issued in a few cases.
- If you cancel your trip before any cancellation penalties come into effect.
- If your carrier or travel supplier cancels the entire trip, so all penalties are waived.
- If your carrier or travel supplier changes the travel dates and you can’t travel on those dates, so all penalties are waived.
