Postal service strike: Expect delivery delays

We’re monitoring the rotating postal strikes that are causing mail delivery delays across the country. We encourage members to use our online services to ensure uninterrupted access to benefits and faster claims processing.

Our member site and app give you instant access to:
- Direct deposit
- Claim submissions
- Digital claim statements
- ID cards
Register today for a member site account
- Start registration: Go to members.ab.bluecross.ca on your computer's internet browser. Click on Not registered yet? under the Sign In button.
- Enter details: Enter your last name, plan information, birth date and email address. For help with each field, click on 🛈.
- Existing account check:
- If you already have an account with us under a different plan, choose Yes and follow the prompts.
- If you do not have an existing account, choose No. Create a new username and password. For the username and password criteria, click on 🛈.
- Security questions: Choose and answer your security questions. These responses will be used to verify your identity in case you forget your login details in the future.
- Repeat the process from the previous step.
- Review and submit: Verify the information, then click Submit.

- Access direct deposit: In your member site profile, go to Account and select Direct deposit.
- Choose an action:
- To set up direct deposit, go to Add direct deposit.
- To update existing direct deposit information, go to Edit.
- Enter banking details: Enter your banking information and re-enter to confirm.
- Consent and review:
- Check the consent checkbox and click Next to review.
- Verify your information, then click Submit.

Paper claim options
If you prefer to submit paper claims, please use the drop box at one of our five locations - Edmonton, Calgary, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge and Red Deer.
Note: Paper claims have a longer processing time. For faster service, consider using our member site.
Pre-arranged cheque pickup
Effective October 11, 2025, no new cheque pickup requests will be accepted.
Members who submitted requests by October 10, 2025, can pick up their cheques from pre-arranged locations between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays until October 21, 2025.
