About travel plans
What is the difference between a Daily travel plan and an Annual travel plan?
Both Daily and Annual travel plans are available online to Albertans aged 59 and under.
A Daily travel plan provides benefits for a single trip. It is valid for both vacation and business travel. The maximum trip length is 275 days, which is approximately nine (9) months.
An Annual travel plan is recommended if you are planning to travel more than once in any 12 month period. The Annual travel plan benefits are valid for one (1) year from the effective date, allowing any number of trips to a maximum of 30 days per trip and is valid for vacation travel only.
Is it necessary to read my travel plan contract?
It is extremely important that you take the time to read your contract thoroughly, cover-to-cover. By taking the time to read it, you will know exactly what you’re covered for, what you’re not covered for and how to file a claim. This also gives you the opportunity to call us to clarify any questions you might have. Most importantly, after reading it, you won’t run into any surprises at claim time regarding your emergency medical travel coverage!
Can I extend my annual travel plan if my trip is longer than 30 days?
Yes. However, you must purchase the first extension to your Annual plan prior to the date of departure from Alberta.
