Before you leave

If you purchased a single-trip plan, multi-trip annual plan or you have a personal plan, check your travel agreement. If you have travel benefits through your employer, check your benefit booklet.

To confirm if you have travel coverage, sign into the member site. Go to Benefits and choose Out of Country to see what coverage you currently have.

Note: Emergency Medical Care does not include Trip Cancellation or Interruption coverage, but you can purchase it separately online. Learn more about our travel coverage options.

You do not need to notify Alberta Blue Cross® of your travel dates; however, it is your responsibility to make sure you travel within the eligible trip dates of your policy.

It is important to read your agreement, so you know exactly what you’re covered for and how to file a claim. It also gives you the opportunity to chat with us before you leave to clarify any questions you might have.
